Has It REALLY Been 2 Weeks?

..since my last post?!

Shame, shame on me, huh?

Can I blame it on Facebook? Yes, I am on Facebook, and totally addicted to catching up with old friends.

And, I have been reading more frequently. Some days I feel like my brain is turning into mush due to all the time I waste on the computer! So, I started with "Twilight". And, the other day I finished the 4th book of the 4 part series. If you've never read the books, the fourth one is by far the best! I loved them all, and didn't want them to end. Now I am reading "Marley and Me". I know, don't lecture me, I know it has been out for awhile, and heck the movie has been showing since Christmas, but better late than never, right? Right now it's a good light read, but I know how it ends, so I am prepared!

What else is going on?

Saturday my baby bought me a treadmill! I worked Saturday, and he brought me lunch. Over lunch he said that Sear's had a treadmill on sale, and if he bought it for me, would I use it? Heck yea! So, when I got home, he was busy assembling it. I have been a very good girl, and have used it faithfully every day. So, maybe by summer I'll have that bikini bod? No?.....how about a one-piece suit that doesn't look too gross? Better plan, huh?

Of course I have pictures to share!

SOME assembly required! Notice all the parts strewn on the floor?!

Mother-In-Law on the treadmill! Don't tell her she's on the internet! LOL!

Kitty getting a work out!

All tuckered out from a hard work-out! LOL!

Anyone Need Some Firewood?

Absolutely free!

That's right. F-R-E-E!

Now where else can you get some quality firewood for free?!

John and his buddy Glenn spent yesterday taking down 2 huge water oaks that were in our front yard. These trees were probably 200 years old! I bet these trees could tell some stories! I always wonder if any of them were used for lynchings? Sorry, my corrupt mind thinks of things like that when it comes to old things!
These trees were HUGE! As you can tell by the pile of wood left on my front yard! You should have seen the trunk!

Whenever John cuts branches, he'll haul them to the curb for when the county picks up yard waste. By morning, everything will be gone! It's amazing the things people in this neighborhood will take that's on the curb! When he was gutting the house next door, they came to steal vanities, the toilet, hot water tank, refrigerator (which the doors were taken off of), rotted wood, an old tin roof, broken concrete blocks! And I could go one for ever and ever! The trash men never had to actually haul anything away! Except maybe the stinky old carpet. Ooopppssss.....John said they took the old urine stained carpet as well! Can you believe it?! :-0

But, anyways, I am going off track, the story was about the firewood. So, I am SO glad that I wasn't home when the trees came down! 2 men, a Bobcat, and some steal cables. I am so thankful that my house is still standing, and even more thankful that nobody got hurt!

So, come on down, and you can take home as much firewood as you can haul. Might come in handy for you guys that are having minus temps right now! It will keep you toasty warm on those long winter nights!

But hurry, I'm anticipating people coming to remove it from our yard before we even have a chance to get it all to the curb! LOL!

Yes, It's Been Awhile

But don't fret. I have not given up my blog. Just haven't had anything to talk about lately. Can you imagine that?! :-)

John has been pouting because I have not shared any pictures of his newest toy. So, here ya go baby. Here is his latest purchase, a new ATV. Pictures were taken when he brought it home, so we will know a month from now what color it is supposed to be! LOL! Hey! His other 4 wheelers are so caked in mud, it's difficult to tell exactly what color they are supposed to be! What is it with boys and mud? A fascination I will never quite understand.

The weather down here has been spectacular! Last week we were flirting with 80 degrees! I was starting to think that spring was coming. But, alas, winter has started to rear her ugly head here as well. :-( We were rainy and the 40's today. By Saturday morning, we will be in the 20's! OUCH! And the worst part? I have to work Saturday! So, I have to go out in that cold mess! John might be able to make snow if it actually gets that low!

Want to know one of the reasons I like Savannah so much?

These beautiful flowers bloom in late December, into January. When everything else has gone nighty night for the winter, these beautiful Camellias make the winter more bearable with their beauty. There are several Camellia bushes in the yard next door. Too bad we couldn't have dug them up, and moved them over here before the tenants moved in! :-( I think we're going to have to add some to our yard. Aren't they lovely?

Not much else to report. So, until the nest time. Good night.
Love,

What Do YOU Think?

I am bored, surfing the internet, looking for cool things.
So, everyone who knows me, knows that I am a total pink freak, right?
I tease John that I want to have my car painted pink! I was Googling Pink Cars, when I came across this beauty!

Now, this is a Saturn Sky, and I drive a Saturn Aura, so don't think about the car itself, just the color.
Now, I am ready to find someone to paint my car pink! What do YOU think?
Am I crazy? Maybe the cold medicine has really gone to my head?
You only live once. Wouldn't it be cool to be the only person in town driving around in a hot pink car?
I think the Chrysler Sebring Convertible would have looked sharper in pink, but she was a death trap, and had to go!

Happy New Year!

How did YOU ring in the coming of the new year?

I had to work yesterday, that's why my New Years wishes are late in coming. So, John and I rang in the new year asleep! Yes, sad but true. Since I had to get up at 5, we went to bed early. I think John was glad, he thinks it's silly that I like to sit up and watch the ball drop, toast in the new year with a glass of bubbly, and a smoochy kiss, then off to bed. So, we eliminated the watching, the drinking, the smooching, and just went straight to bed. We did HEAR the new year start, as neighbors were shooting off fireworks, and shooting rifles into the air. At least I hope they were shooting into the air, you never know in Savannah! It sounded like a war had broken out down here! Scared the crap out of me to be honest! But, their partying didn't last long, I was able to get right back to sleep.

Spent most of my day at work taking down the Christmas decorations. Now, if I only had the energy to do the same thing here at home! :-0

The best part of my day? John was in the neighborhood running errands, and he surprised me at work by bringing me lunch! It was a sweet gesture which was greatly appreciated! A Chick Fil-A sandwich beats a hospital cafeteria lunch any day of the week!

Any New Years Resolutions anybody care to share?

I hate resolutions, because I never stick to them! It's always the same thing:

-loose weight
-eat more healthy
-exercise regularly
-be more organized
-save money

But, the scales are no longer my friend, and soon the diet goes right out the window. The exercising falls to the wayside, there's always ANYTHING that's more fun to do than exercise! Someone brings a bag of cookies into the house (usually me, because they looked too darn good to pass up!) I get lazy, and throw things everywhere, and that money just starts burning in my pocket, and screams to be spent! LOL!

So, I resolve to make no more resolutions! Works for me. :-)

I am going to TRY to loose some weight. I want to be able to do some hiking in the snow next month, and not be all short of breath, or my knees killing me.
I want to stop taking life so seriously, and try to start having more fun. Let's face it, we're all getting older, and our time here on this planet is getting shorter. And I don't want to leave with regrets. So, if an opportunity for something "fun" comes my way, I am going to jump in with both feet, and enjoy it!

Here's hoping that you and yours have a wonderful new year. That all of your dreams come true. And let's all pray that we'll ALL be better off this time next year than we were this one!

God Bless everyone who's read this. And
Happy New Year!
Love,
