Well It Wasn't 15"!

The local weatherman was hoping for 15" of snow yesterday. It started snowing yesterday ever so fine, at about 10am. The temperatures were rising, so at first it didn't stick to cars or the roads. Which I guess can be a very good thing! Overnight it really picked up. This morning, we awoke to a winter wonderland. I would guess about 8" of the fluffy white stuff. It's really pretty in the trees. It's 2pm, and the snow is still heavy on the trees. Too cloudy for the sun to come out and melt things.
Tomorrow is going to be bitterly cold, a daytime high of about 14! BRRRR!!!! And, they are saying windy! Uh oh! Sounds to me like that 14, is going to turn into -14!
Anyways, I thought I'd share some pictures that I took this morning on our walk over to breakfast. You have to admit, it is pretty....pretty to look at, and that's about it! Sorry John,.....you know I don't like this weather! I'm ready to return to spring! Did I mention that the azaleas were beginning to bloom when we left town? And the tulip trees? Yep.....I left spring for this! Oh well....we'll be home soon. And them I don't have to look at snow for 12 more months! :-)
Don't forget that you can click on any of the pictures to see them bigger. :-)

Greeting From Stowe Vermont!

We arrived in Stowe late Friday night. We drove right through that winter storm that struck New England! Traffic CRAWLED along the interstate! No kidding. We did 30-45 mph the entire trip (second day on the road)! There were at least 20 accidents, 99% of them in the state of Connecticut. One was pretty nasty. A tractor trailer jack-knifed in the southbound lane. His cab was on the side of the road, and his trailer was blocking the entire highway. Traffic was backed up. There was one car wedged in up behind his cab, and one up under the backend of his trailer! If any of the passengers of those 2 cars survived, it will be a miracle! And immediately behind that accident was one fender bender on top of another! I guess everyone followed way too closely, and when traffic stopped, they just kept running into each other! SO happy we were traveling north!
Stowe got NONE of that Friday snowfall! Zip, zilch, nadda. They have snow, but nothing new. And what is left has a layer of ice on top. I hope for John's sake that conditions on the mountain are better than in town.
Today john tried something new and exciting. I was searching the internet one evening for fun things to do in Stowe. When I found ice climbing. They climb up frozen waterfalls like you'd rock climb! I wanted to go along to be his photographer, but I can barely breathe in this thin air. I knew if we had to hike any great distance, I would just slow them down. So, I stayed in town while he went on his big adventure. He said he ended up climbing 85 feet up this frozen waterfall! Cool, huh?
And of course I have the picture to prove it! :-)

I hope everyone is staying warm. We got to about 35 degrees today. But it sure does get cold at night! This morning was -1 when John got up! Doesn't that just make you shiver?! Sure does me! Good weather for hot cocoa, hot fires, and sitting in the room with the computer. Wink.
More of our Stowe adventures as they happen.

P.S. We sure do miss you Jingle Bells! :(

3 More Days!

3 more days until we leave for our vacation!
MY suitcases are packed. The snowboard, snowshoes, sleds and boots are stowed away. The winter coats, sweaters, gloves, scarves, long-johns, hats, ect, ect are packed.
If there isn't any snow, this trip is going to suck! As if 4 days in the car isn't bad enough! Whatever will we do if there is no snow, and we are stuck in a hotel for a week and a half?! Well..I could think of a few things to do....LOL!
We will be able to be reached via cell phones or email if needed. There's no way I'd leave the laptop at home! I'd be really bored then!
We'll check in from Vermont, posting pictures, if anyone is interested. If not....look at them anyways!
Talk to you soon

A Message From The Cat

That's right,.. a message from the Cat.
Me.....Jingle Bells
I just want to say, that there is something going on down here, and I don't think I am going to be happy about it!
My parents are acting really weird, and I think I smell a rat!
Not the furry, hairless tail, beety-eyed kind of rat that I used to share my house with. I mean I think something serious is going on!
The people are acting strange. Suitcases are being taken out of storage. Strange boards with boot grip thingies are laying around. Lots of warm clothes that people use to warm their furless bodies laying around the house.
I hear my parents talking about a "vacation", but I think this entire thing spells out TROUBLE for your's truely!
I found this suitcase, and as you can see, I would fit purrfectly inside of it.

So, if they are going away, there is NO reason I can't go too.
Shoot....they carry me to the vet's in a box, and have my na-nas cut off, they could devise a way to bring me on this "Vacation" they talk about.
Daddy sits at his computer, looking at snow reports.
What is this "snow" he talks about?!
Momma says it's gonna be cold. I can take the cold. Look....I'm wearin' a frickin' FUR coat, I am equiped for a trip to the cold!
Sure beats these warm days down here where I can only cool off by curling up inside of the bathroom sink.
Today I discovered this thing parked on my loft:

I don't know exactly what it is, but if a human can do it, then I am sure I can do it better!
After all, I am built low to the ground, I'm fast.
Fast as a....well....CAT!
And I ALWAYS land on my feet!
More than I can say for the humans!
Today, my mommy brought home another bag of cat food.
Look....she just opened a bag the other day. And I know I like to eat, but for God's sake, it's gonna take me a few days to work my way thru that first bag!
What exactly is going on? I need to know what it going on!
If anybody knows, can you fill me in?
Soemthing tells me I'm not going to like what you have to tell me. :-(
Don't you feel sorry for me?!

Good Day For A Cat Nap?

Jingles thinks so!
I was supposed to work today, but still dealing with this stinking bronchitis. I have barked my stupid head off, and still no relief in site! So, I am being lazy, surfing on the net, laying around on the bed, listening to my ipod, and just trying to rest. John is cleaning up his shed. And Judy is out shopping. So, kitty had the purrfect idea of catching up on a cat nap in the sunshine. Aw.....to have the life of a kitty! Especially my spoiled cat! LOL!

Only 11 days before we leave for vacation! Now I'm starting to worry. What if I still have this cough? What a way to spend a trip to the snow and cold weather! I hope these germs leave my body PDQ, or John might be going without me.

6 More Weeks Of Winter

Yep, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning. That means 6 more weeks of winter. Which, is a good thing, since 3 weeks from now John and I will be in Vermont playing in the snow. So, we need all the snow we can get! Last trip up there (Christmas 2006) there was no snow in the town of Stowe. And, even though I am not the craziest about snow, when you make a trip to play in snow....you like for the white stuff to be on the ground!
So, anyways, old Phil saw his shadow, scurried back into his den, to sleep off the next 6 weeks of winter. Aw...to have the life of a groundhog! LOL!
But seriously, he should look into an extreme tooth makeover over these next 6 weeks! Have you seen a picture of Phil up close? No?....google his name under images, and you'll see what I am talking about! BLECK! LOL!

Last night John gave me my Valentine's gift! I know....it's a little early, but he knew I wanted it. And, it was only fair, since I gave him the Wii a few days ago. So, can you guess what he got me?.......no guesses?.......
He bought me a new Ipod touch!

And I LOVE it! :-) It is just the coolest gadget! I've been playing with it all day, loading my itunes into it, and setting up my mailbox, and preferences. Thank you baby! I LOVE my toy! :-) I can even check my email, and keep up to date with current weather. It's too fun!
