Happy Birthday To Me....

Happy Birthday to Me.....Happy birthday to Me E.......Happy birthday to me!
:-P
Whatever!
So, this was a sucky birthday! I'm not going to like this year, I can already tell that! The numbers are getting too big! Can I please go back to being 30 Something?!
No?......whatever! :-P
I had to work today. And even though there is a big ole sign in the nurses' station with the March birthdays posted, it was well into the day before anyone realized it was my Birthday. :-(
I had a splitting headache all day, so that didn't help matters any!
But, John saved the day. We went out to dinner. Tried something totally new. We went to Toucan Cafe. I must admit, after looking at the menu, I really wanted to get up and leave! But, I had an awesome Rosemary Chicken, and some even better Pinot Grigio to wash it down with.
Then, we come home, and John had a surprise for me. He baked me a cake!
That's right, my husband baked ME a cake! And I have pictures to prove it!
I love that man more than he will ever know!
He got me my super duper totally awesome camera last month, which has a pink bow tied around the strap to commemorate the occasion. And Judy got me a new Kathy Van Zeeland purse (which I have been carrying since February), but today she gave me the matching wallet! Yea Me! And she gave me a small statue of a kitty who looks just like Jingle Bells.
My birthday technically isn't until 11:30 tonight, and by then I hope to be totally asleep! Some of us have to go back to work tomorrow. :-(
Here are some pictures of John making my birthday cake! Isn't he awesome?!
I hope this year improves. Or, I'm not celebrating any more birthdays!

You should have seen this thing lit! It's a wonder the frickin' smoke detectors didn't go off! The house STILL smells like burning wax! Smart alec!

Cherry Blossoms

Sunday, I drove out to Macon for their Cherry Blossom Festival.

Unfortunately, the trees were not at their peak yet. :-(
But, I did get a couple of pictures.

They call their festival "The Pinkest Party on Earth."!

Did some body say PINK!!! LOL

I did enjoy the vendors with pink items, and the pink bows on the trees, and pink water in the fountains. Sorry, I don't have pictures of everything that was pink.
But, here are some cherry blossoms to enjoy. Boy could I go for a piece of cherry pie right about now! Or maybe some cheesecake with cherries on top? YUM!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day for a parade!
Everone was there! Including UGA, mascot of the Georgia Bulldogs!

The morning started chilly, but when the first police cruisers started down Broughton street where I was positioned, the sun broke through, and within 30 minutes there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

The crowds were enthusiastic, and everyone had a great time.

It's said that Savannah's parade is second in size only to New York city's parade! That means little ole Savannah's parade is bigger than Chicago and Boston! On a day like today, it's easy to tell why. People come from far, far away to enjoy our spring weather, and join to watch the parade.

There were marching bands, one came from as far away as Lapal Indiana. Police and firefighters from all over the country, and Canada and Ireland.
New York City's firefighters drew a standing ovation from everyone around.

Then came the Army. For the first time in five years the 3rd Infantry Division along with the 1st Battalion Hunter Army Airfield Rangers marched in the St. Patrick's Day parade together. They say there were 1000 Army soldiers marching in our parade! We stood and cheered, and clapped, and they just kept coming, and coming, and coming! I have never seen so many soldiers together! It was truely a sight to see!

I've only been to one other parade since moving to Savannah, and this one was far better than the first one. I had a great time.

Now, when are some of you guys going to come on down to enjoy St Patty's day in Savannah Georgia? Come on down, we're all waiting!

more photos later IF anyone cares to see them

The Newest Eddition To Our Clan

It's usually the woman begging the man for silly, sappy things.
Am I right?

While we were in Vermont, I saw some bunnies, and chicks on a commercial, and jokingly tell John "we need a bunny, or chickie or duckie for Easter."
Usually I expect the typical response of.... "what are you crazy?! We are not getting another pet!"

No, instead he says "....well.....ok......"
WHAT?!

What happened to my husband? No resistance?!
I was seriously teasing.

Later John says "you know...I want a bunny." insert pouty face here.
So, guess what I did?!

That's right, I went out and bought a bun bun for John!
Now we need a name!

Some of the names we've tossed around are:

Bun Bun
Buggs
Jelly Beans
Jelly Belly
Camo
Pepper
Bob The Rabbit
and
Groucho because he's got that black mustache

So, it's your turn to help us out, and Name The Bunny. :-)

Here are some pictures of Bob the rabbit LOL.

Jingle Bells is checking out his new brother.

I'm ready for my close-up

I am already thinking of Easter poses for the little fellow.
Guess I will be sending out Easter Cards this year! LOL!

Signs Of Spring

Last weekend we were in winter, cold and snowy. BBBRRRRRR....
This weekend, 80+ degrees, sunny, warm, MY kind of weather! :-)
Yesterday Judy and I took a trip up to Charleston in the warm weather. We were Sunday drivers....on a Saturday. LOL
Today I played in my rose garden, pruning and weeding the rose beds. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow. When I can't raise my arms above my head in the morning, would someone kindly remind me of using the Garden Claw. LOL
After my garden duties, I drug out the camera to capture some "Signs Of Spring"
Enjoy!

My Blues are back! There are at least 4 of them flitting around the yard. They keep sticking their heads into this box, but no nest yet. I hope they give me some babies again this year. It's been too long since they've been around!

A "Before" shot of my rose garden. Can't wait until they're blooming again!

The Dogwoods will be blooming soon! Starting to bud

Cherry Blossoms

Forsyth Fountain GREEN for St. Patrick's Day!

Red Bud Tree Blooming

The azaleas are starting to bloom! A few more warm days, and Savannah is going to be in full bloom!

A Gecko Lizard sunning himself on the front porch steps. Even the reptiles are enjoying these sunny, warm days!

Snowmobile Trip

Just some quick photos of our snowmobile trip Saturday in New Hampshire.
It sure was beautiful up there! The snow was perfect. It wasn't too cold. And as you can see, the views were spectacular!

All of my photos are Right Mouse Click Protected. But, if you want anything, and I like you, just drop me an email, and I'll send you the original. Thanks!

We cut the trip short by one day so we could beat the snow home. Thankfully our plan worked. We drove into Virginia last night, then finished the trip today. The snow was gorgeous, and thankfully the road crews had everything plowed for us.

Now we are safely back home, and Jingles is napping in my lap, right where he belongs.
Now to plan our next trip. The Ohio Valley Memorial Day weekend for mom and dad's 25th wedding anniversary! ooooopppppsssss..... that should say 50th my editor must have been asleep at the wheel and missed that one! Thanks Lee!
