Off To The Vet

Jingles is not too happy with me right now!
It was time for his annual visit to the vet.
Last year this time he was neutered, and at that time, he was about 3 months old, and weighed in just under 5 pounds. A little thing.
Today, he's about 15 months old, and weighs in at a hefty 17 pounds!
I was shocked! The last time we weighed him, he was about 16 1/2. But that's not a very accurate weight. But, Dr Mary wasn't upset with the numbers. She said he's not "fat", he's just a big cat. I knew he would turn out big, he's got this big ole head on him! She loves his white stripe down his back, said we really should have named him Pepe' Le Pew! See.....I KNEW it! But John wouldn't let me.....pout.

Yesterday I FINALLY found a Wii! Can you believe it?! I have been looking since October 2006! Our stores have not had very many of them in. I was at Walmart yesterday, and they had 2. I debated about it, walking up and down the aisles, trying to talk myself out of it. There was a young girl standing there, texting on her cell phone. I went away for awhile, and came back to the display. Girl was still standing there. The girl's mother came up with a sales clerk to unlock the case. Then the girl starts talking to someone on her phone ..."yes...she's here to get mine, they have 2." Then I spoke up and told the clerk I wanted one too "never mind" the girl says, "some lady just bought the last one"! She had a friend somewhere else in the store, and was telling them they had 2 in stock. They only allow 1 per customer, so I got the last one, and the friend lost out! Na na na na boo boo! LOL! Now we gotta hook it up, and play games! I gave it to John as a Valentine's gift.

Now, maybe I'll get that touch Ipod that I am dying to get.
Maybe?.....
PLEASE!.....
LOL!

Something Cool Happened Today!

Everybody knows how I stitched my little fingers to the bone, making purses, and sold lots of them at the craft show. This morning, I had to run down to the operating room, and on the way back, I see a total stranger in the hallway, with one of my purses on her arm! It was sooo cool! I have wondered how I will react when I see someone at the mall with one of my purses, I don't know why I wasn't prepared to see one in the hospital where I work. It sure was cool...to say the least.

Not much else going on. We leave for vacation in just one month! I am ready to get away from work for awhile. Don't know that I am ready to be cold! Brrr......Hey, it's been cold here in Savannah.....thank you very much. Atlanta even got snow! We were in the 20's. Granted, it wasn't sub-zero, or minus zero windchill factors, but for Georgia, it was plenty cold enough. Personally, I've been cold, now it's time for spring! LOL!

This And That

It's been awhile since I blogged. I figured I better post an update.

John had his first cataract removal last Wednesday. Sorry, no pictures of my baby in his Ray Charles glasses! Everything went well. He saw the doctor the day after, and got good and bad news. The doctor was very impressed with his progress, but John was hoping to get the other eye done in 2 weeks. They want to wait for 5 weeks. The doctor wants him to continue the drops for 5 weeks. That puts us right up to vacation time. So, he's going to postpone the other eye until March.

A new year, a new resolution. I started the dreaded diet last Monday. I lost 5 pounds last week! Yea me!! More than likely just water weight, but I'll take whatever I can get! I spent most of my life skinny, it's so sickening that I have a weight problem now. I want to be able to wear a 2 piece swimsuit this summer and not gross everyone out at the beach! Today my XL Glider came from QVC, if it doesn't kill me, maybe I'll shed some pounds!

Work has been good. Well......teaching class has been really good. I LOVE teaching! I get so much satisfaction from teaching this pre-op class. The excitement of nursing left me a long time ago. It's so nice to have that excitement back. There is a spring in my step, and a smile on my face when I am up there in front of that class, telling them everything they need to know. Last week they applauded me! I am still in shock over that!

Well......that's about it. John hasn't planned our vacation yet. We're waiting to see what the weather does up around Stowe. We leave in just 1 month, 1 week and 3 days. Personally, I would like to go back to Wyoming! :-) But, where ever we end up, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!

My Newest Obsession

Uh-oh!
Yes.......she has a new obsession! LOL!
It seems like I can't do anything normal. It's either an all out obsession, or I just couldn't give a rat's butt about it.
Hey, at least I am big enough to acknowledge the fact.
So, are you anxious to know what the newest obsession is?
Playing Pac Man on my ipod! :-)
Yes, you can play games on the video ipods!
Yesterday, I was searching itunes, seeing if there was anything new and exciting. When I came across games for sale. I didn't even know I could play games on my ipod.
Since I grew up in the 70's, prior to the video game craze, I'm not a big fan of them. But, I always did like Pac Man. I'm not very good at it, but it's something to amuse me.
After I downloaded the game into my ipod, I spent "hours" playing the silly thing! I played until the power ran down, then I plugged it in, and played some more! LOL! My next accessory will have to be an AC cord! LOL
So, now my favorite thing on my ipod is Pac Man, what's your favorite thing on your ipod or mp3 player?

Happy New Year!

Happy 2008!

I pray that 2008 will be a great one for all of our family and friends!
I pray that everyone will have a healthy, happy new year, full of love, joys, health, and new adventures, and excitement.
As we close out another year, I get a little sad reminicing of the things we leave behind. The memories of the years past. But excited of what the new year might hold.

What did 2007 hold for you and your family?

January we were still getting familiar with the pitter-patter of 4 little paws in our family (Jingle Bells). I also photographed my first wedding in January. Not a bad way to make some $$. I was also quite proud of the photos.

February was our first ever trip to Jackson Hole Wyoming, and I am ready to return TOMORROW! Talk about "God's country"! My God was it beautiful! The scenery, the wild life, the snow. The trip started out bumpy, missing our connecting flight, spending a 4 hour lay-over in Salt Lake City, loosing John's luggage for a day. But all in all, a wonderful experience, that I would gladly repeat!

March was lack luster. Of course I turned another year older, and that's never good after you reach a certain age. But, I refuse to let it bother me any more. I rejoice in the fact that I CAN have another birthday every year!

April Judy went to Boston for her birthday, leaving John and I home alone! :-)

May.......can't think of a single "special" thing that happened in May. :-(

June- John and I celebrated 3 years as husband and wife! And John celebrated a birthday. We also had our sod laid in June, which greatly improved the curb appeal of our house!

July- I started teaching the total joint pre-op education class full time (every Monday and Thursday) which was a big deal for me. I LOVE teaching this class! My "students" are very special to me, and teaching the class has been VERY rewarding to me!

August held 2 milestones for us. I went back to Ohio for my 25th year high school reunion. It was really weird celebrating 25 years. Seeing all of my old classmates was odd. Of course you remember everybody the way you last saw them 25 years ago. And NOBODY looked like they did back then! I felt very old! But, I socialized with people who never talked to me in high school, so it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Then on the 20th I took John to the Little League World Series in Williamsport PA. You can pull up my archives here, and read some entries that I made during the world series. We had a blast, and Georgia winning the World Series was the icing on the cake!

September John and I both bought new cars, and of course my craft room became a finished project in September.

October we were busy with work. Nothing exciting.

November was my craft shows. Thanksgiving I had to work. You can read all about my Thanksgiving woes in the archives. LOL

December was busy preparing for Christmas, and then I got my nasty cold which lasted 2 weeks. And of course John finished the mantle downstairs which is amazing.

And that brings us up to the current day and time. Judy and I have been doing a LOT of post holiday shopping. Getting all of the after Christmas sales, and spending all of my money! I STILL want an i-phone, and am TRYING my best to talk myself out of it. If you can think of one good reason not to buy it, please email me, and let me know.

Happy New Year to evrybody who reads this! And may God Bless you and your family!
